Turmeric, which is an ingredient commonly found in most kitchens across India, has potent healing properties. Add turmeric to many of your foods so that you can protect your body from harmful diseases while giving you immunity against digestive and other health problems. Prepare a cup of morning tea using turmeric. Add 1/4th tablespoon each of ginger and turmeric powder to your tea and drink it. Drinking this tea thrice a day will help you treat cold, cough, and other health problems.
Rinse your Sinuses
The best way to cleanse your sinuses is by using a neti pot. It is a teapot that will help you pour saline solution through your sinus and nasal cavities. Prepare the saline solution using ½ a teaspoon of sea salt or rock salt and 8 ounces of water that has been distilled. Pour this solution through your sinuses so that they will be cleansed of mucus, allergens, germs, and dust. Place the spout of the teapot near your nostrils after tilting your head slightly backwards and then, a little to the side. Then, pour the liquid inside one of the nostrils. However, make sure the liquid gets flushed out of the other one. This is one technique that needs an expert guidance initially.
Eat your Greens
How many times have you heard your mother ask you to eat those leafy greens as a child? If you would like a healthy colon and liver along with healthy immune and lymphatic systems, consider eating green, leafy vegetables regularly. Prepare a healthy salad made of leafy greens and consume them if you cannot take them in directly. If you want, you can prepare a curry out of some greens and consume them too. However, while cooking the greens, follow the principles of Ayurveda.
One of the best ways to feel in sync with your Inner Self is to practice spirituality. This will also change the way you perceive your relationships with the others in your life. Even though the winter encourages people to recede into a shell, spring encourages them to open up to new people. Make a list of those people you would reconnect with or clear the air. Spirituality will help clear your mind and also connect with your Higher Self.
It is important to not only clean yourself from the outside but also from the inside. Reciting mantras will give you the power of prayers. In fact, mantras can not only protect you but also give you immense peace of mind. Make sure you recite the basic mantra “Om” before chanting the rest of the mantra. Recite the same few mantras over and over again (about 108 times each).
Cleaning the space in which you live is also important for the health of the body and mind. Therefore, you should do some spring cleaning by removing the things you don’t need that you have hoarded in your house or clutter. Remember those old knick-knacks that your aunt gave you? What was her name again? You do not need to store those things at home. Just make sure you give those things to the needy or sell them instead of discarding them.
You need to go on a purely Ayurvedic diet. It is quite simple. All you need to do is take 1 cup each of yellow, split mung dal, 6 cups of water, and basmati rice every day and cook it by adding cilantro leaves that have been chopped to it. Add some clarified butter or ghee to it so that the mixture will taste good. Follow this method for at least a week in order to see results.
When you follow Ayurvedic methods strictly in order to cleanse your body and mind, they will help you renew yourself inside out. In fact, these cleansing methods are safer than other internal as well as external cleansing methods. Following them would give you great results but not overnight.
